Losing weight and going down a size or two are just some of the most common New Year resolutions most people promise themselves to achieve. The elementary 8 glasses a day is not a myth; in fact, drinking about 16oz of water before eating does the trick when you want to lose 10 pounds or even more in a healthy and effective way. Drinking water before eating helps you eat less but still feel full. Water also flushes out toxins and salt.

Less calories — Did you know that a pound equals 3,500 calories? This means that in order to lose 10 pounds in a week, you need to lose 5,000 calories a day. Eating more than what you shed just won’t do the trick, so eat more of the right kinds of food and cut down on those which are packed with unwanted calories, including sugary foods and carbohydrates.

Exercise — This may sound like a broken record, but exercising is really a key to losing unwanted fat. This does not necessarily mean that you have to squeeze in gym time in your busy daily schedule. Simple tasks like walking, taking the stairs or doing a bit of dancing and some sports are good ways to exercise without ever really pumping iron.
